Style and Design
The space in which I exist nurtures my creative mind. I perceive how I design my home as well as how I dress as an interactive immersive art exhibition.
Style
The opportunity to get dressed each day is a way for me to creatively express my inner being as well as my mood that day. I dabble in sewing clothes and creating functional items from raw materials however am more averse in altering and assembling thrifted clothing and jewelry in a way that suites the expression of self.
Design
As one friend stated after seeing my home, “it is like walking through Hannah’s brain.” It feels natural for me to creatively design the habitat in which I occupy as well as it seems logical that this container would then breed further depth of creativity in my daily life and artworks. I prefer building and designing functional creations and spaces out of “unwanted” items. Over 95% of what I own has been repurposed or upcycled. When I buy used items I not only fulfill my desire to be more sustainable but also I can sense into the history of the pieces and the love the prior owners had for their items. It feels good to renew those items, honoring their original designers and prior owners all the while creating visually appealing space and décor.
