LOVE is the ANTIdote

One of my favorite parts of my job as an ER doctor is the vastly diverse range of humans I am honored to care for and interact with.  I see people of all gender identities and expressions, heights, ages, colors, races, ethnicities, social classes, sexual orientations, (dis)abilities, personalities, nationalities, criminal records, levels of intellect and education, and beliefs systems. I take care of both the victim and the perpetrator...sometimes in the same hour.

It may be my job as a doctor but more importantly it’s my DESIRE as a fellow human to TREAT each person with dignity, acceptance, compassion, fairness and LOVE.  I love and treat all others like they are my mother, brother, lover, sibling, niece, nephew, grandparent, or simply myself.

LOVE is the ANTIDOTE...
To discrimination
To hate
To prejudice

What I’ve learned about love is that true unconditional LOVE is simply that of ACCEPTANCE.

Love is accepting others (and myself) for exactly who they are (I am) in that moment....regardless of their gender identities and expressions, heights, ages, color, races, ethnicities, social classes, sexual orientations, (dis)abilities, personalities, nationalities, criminal records, levels of intellect and education, and beliefs systems.

I accept YOU
I LOVE YOU

Love is the antidote

Let’s break the cycle.
Let’s be our best human selfs.
Let’s love.
Let’s accept.
Let’s LOVE!
